Counseling
is sought for numerous reasons. Usually this
question is asked when someone already feels they need some kind of help
but aren't sure if their problems are "normal," will go away,
or are capable of self-solution. People will live with a lot of pain before
they seek help from someone. Going to see a therapist is a sign of courage,
personal strength and wisdom - a recognition of the importance you give
yourself and your well-being. The stigma of seeking psychological help
has unfortunately been part of what we are exposed to in this society,
but this is changing. In therapy you should find the acceptance and support
you desire and deserve. There are many self-help resources available to
you if you should choose this route. The bottom line is that if you bothered
by difficulties with emotions or behaviors, then you may need some
kind of counseling. Millions of people have sought this
kind of help, with very positive results.
